Neues Interesse an einem Hafen in der Messara Bucht.
Am Donnerstag fand in Kokkinos Pirgos und Mires/Festos ein Treffen verschiedener Politiker statt. Unter anderem Manolis Kefaloyiannis (ND) und Maria Petrakogiorgi (Bürgermeisterin der Region Festos), sowie Antonis Maniadakis (CEO von Minoan Lines).

Maniadakis sagte konkret:
„Während wir uns über Wachstumsdefizit in Kreta unterhalten, wird der Bau des Hafens von Timbaki eine sehr wichtige Investition, da sie die Südküste auf die Karte der globalen Umschlagplätze, Routen, Passagierfähren und Kreuzfahrtschiffe stellen wird.

Die lokale Gemeinde möge berücksichtigen, dass Venedig, Genua, Marseille, Barcelona, London, Rotterdam und Kopenhagen die schönsten Städte in Europa mit großen touristischen Entwicklung sind, während es die größten Häfen absolut sind im Bezug auf den Schutz der Umwelt und des kulturellen Erbes.

Es ist eine sehr positive Entwicklung für die gesamte Messara – und vor allem Timbaki – die Hunderte von neuen Arbeitsplätzen für unsere Bewohner schaffen wird, während eine solche Perspektive neue Geschäftsmöglichkeiten eröffnet, Wege für den Tourismus und Küstenschifffahrt, die zur Stärkung des Handels mit nordafrikanischen Ländern, Ausfuhr von Produkten der lokalen Landwirtschaft, Viehzucht und anderer Produkte führen wird. “

Die Menschen vor Ort müssen von sich aus handeln.
Und was ich mit Sicherheit sagen kann, mit blinden Aktionen kann man Ihnen von „Resteuropa“ aus nicht helfen.
Petitionen sind auch eine feine Sache, aber in dem Falle nur zur Gewissensberuhigung geeignet….Sorry.
Denn nicht nur in Deutschland kümmern sich die Empfänger oft einen Dreck darum.

Alle die schon einmal auf Kreta waren, wissen wie stolz Kreter sind, was ich zunächst in Ordnung finde, leider stehen sie sich manchmal damit selbst im Weg.
(Aber, in Deutschland ist es oft nicht anders…..)

Es gibt vor Ort schon seit 2006 eine Bürgerbewegung die verfolgt welche Ideen die Politiker in ihren feuchten Träumen haben.
Und sie informierten die Bewohner mit einigen Informationsveranstaltungen über die Gefahren und die Lüge der angeblich Hunderten von neuen Arbeitsplätzen.
Bitte glaubt nicht, dass die Menschen auf Kreta dumm sind und nicht wissen was passiert.
Sie können richtige Entscheidungen aber nur treffen, wenn sie richtig informiert werden.
Im Jahr 2005 haben sie zunächst gesehen, dass es viele neue Arbeitsplätze geben soll, nun sind sie schlauer. Nicht ohne Grund gibt es z. B. keine größeren Hotels an der Südküste, und es gab einige Interessen in dieser Richtung auch am Komos.
Trotzdem, eines Tages beginnt vielleicht jemand ……. Es ist auch schon mit Dynamit gefischt worden …………

Nebenbei wird aber durch die Aussage des Herrn Maniadakis eines klar.
Er hat keineswegs vor, nur einen Hafen für den Containerumschlag zu bauen. Es sollen auch Anlagen für Fähren und Kreuzfahrtschiffe angelegt werden.
Natürlich geht er auch mit keinem Wort darauf ein, welche Probleme die von ihm erwähnten Städte durch ihre großen Häfen haben.

Ich bin nun wieder dabei meine Seite auf den aktuellen Stand zu bringen und habe dazu auch Kontakt mit verschiedenen Leuten vor Ort.
Was man aber auch klar sehen muss, bisher ist weniger passiert als zu Anfang.
Wir können von hier aus nur helfen, die Menschen aufzuklären, über die Lüge von Hunderten neuer Arbeitsplätze oder im Gegensatz dazu, was mit der Natur geschieht, den Dörfern in der Umgebung und was sie im Tourismussektor verlieren.
Aber es ist für mich auch klar, ich kann nicht daneben stehen und nur zuschauen was passiert.

He dont want to build only a port for container handling. There will even be created facilities for ferries and cruise ships.
Of course, he also says not a single word about the problems the mentioned cities have with their major ports.

I really thought this topic would be off the table, but now I’m back on my HP to bring the current status and try to get as much information on as possible.
